Ferrari to Hit thE India market !!

Ferrari will launch its cars in India sometime in 2011, and we can expect an official announcement soon.
Ferrari is keen on exploring new emerging markets and India will be its 58th overseas market with official dealerships. In the 90s, Ferrari had a presence in just 30 markets.

Valeria Costa, Communications Director of Ferrari has told Times of India that Ferrari will enter the Indian market in the first half of 2011. Contrary to earlier speculations that Ferrari may get help from Tata Motors, Fiat’s Indian partner, for business operations  the company will come through the direct import route and will have an imported managing the business, according to Valeria Costa.

Montezemolo, Ferrari president and Amedeo Felisa, CEO, are in discussions about Ferrari’s future models and their plans for India. After launch, Ferrari cars will reach Indian shores as CBU cars. We are not sure which models will be launched in India, though.Ferrari may introduce any of the following models, 599 GTB Fiorana, 599 GTO, 612 Scaglietti, 458 Italia and California. The models are expected to be priced around Rs.  1 crore

Demand for ultra luxury cars in India are increasing at a rapid phase. Take the sales statistics of Porsche, Ferrari’s arch rival in the global super car business. In 2009, 94 Porsche cars were sold in India and in 2010 till October, 269 cars were sold which is more than a 2 fold sales growth. Obviously, Ferrari can expect a red carpet welcome among the ultra luxury car buyers in India for sure when launched.
Indians love Ferraris. Some of the big shots including Tata Motors Chairman, Ratan Tata (drives Ferrari California), famous Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (was gifted a Ferrari 360 Modena) and Kingfisher’s Chairman, Vijay Mallya are proud Ferrari owners. A red Ferrari wall poster is a common thing found in every home of a supercar enthusiast in India. In fact, speed cars are mostly associated with Ferrari cars as Porsche and Lamborghini are quite new to a majority of population in this part of the world. Not just for speed, Ferrari cars are also known for its striking beauty.Well so WE expect the car to hit the Indian market as soon as possible!
